Katherine Whitby
Registered Paediatric Nurse · Health Visitor · Mum of Two
I've been supporting families and their little ones for over 30 years — and I'm a mum of two myself, so I truly understand the worries that come with weaning.
As a Registered Paediatric Nurse and Health Visitor, I trained and worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital and spent more than 25 years in Paediatric A&E. I've seen first-hand the concerns parents have about choking and allergies, and I know what you need to feel prepared.
This course brings together the most common concerns and questions from both my First Aid and Weaning courses — all in one place, using my Weaning Without Worry approach.

Yes. The resuscitation and choking modules are fully updated in line with the 2026 Resuscitation Council guidelines, so you can be confident you're learning the most current techniques.
Absolutely. The course is fully optimised for mobile, tablet and desktop — so you can learn in bed, on the sofa, or wherever suits you best.
The First Aid for Weaning course focuses specifically on the concerns that arise during weaning — choking, gagging, allergies and finger foods. The Ultimate First Aid & Home Safety course is broader, covering 14 modules on everything from burns and head injuries to meningitis and febrile convulsions. Many parents choose both!
Absolutely — the course is very popular with grandparents. Weaning advice has greatly changed in a generation. Babies are now weaned at a later age of around 6 months, and the introduction of baby-led weaning and finger foods means this course is extremely beneficial for grandparents who may be caring for or spending time with their grandchild.
