While our popular Resuscitation course gives peace of mind, this is the course which offers practical information to prepare you for dealing with First Aid scenarios with your children.
The first half of the course looks at Childhood Illness. It covers potential emergencies including meningitis, febrile convulsions and croup and helpful tips to ensure you feel more confident while caring for your child when a minor illness occurs, including; coughs, colds, temperatures and tummy bugs. We discuss what medicines or useful aids to keep in your medicine cabinet, how to recognise the signs and symptoms of illness, and importantly when and where to seek medical advice.
The second half focuses on Childhood Accidents. Initially we discuss ways to ‘safe proof’ your home and prevent accidents as your child progresses through different stages of development. This is followed by First Aid, giving you vital information on dealing with burns, cuts, bruises, allergic reactions, ingestions and head injuries and what to keep in your First Aid Kit.
This course has helped countless families deal with traumas both big and small, in a confident and assured manner. Visual aids, easy to use handouts as well as other useful leaflets and reference guides are given throughout the course.
Courses are available in the comfort of your own home or at venues throughout South West London.
The Childhood First Aid course (Illness & Accidents) lasts for approximately 2 hours.
