One hour or half hour appointments are available in the comfort and convenience of your own home providing advice on:

  • Advice on Childcare - Breast and Bottle feeding, Weaning to solids, Sleep management, Crying, Teething, Speech and Language, Behaviour management and Developmental milestones
  • Weighing – Your baby's weight and height can be checked against guidelines

Suggested milestone appointments:

  • Antenatal contact from 32 weeks of pregnancy: Advice on preparing for your baby
  • At 2 weeks: Meeting with you and your new baby for a full assessment of your needs
  • Between 2 weeks - 4 months: Fortnightly appointments for weight, advice and support
  • At 6 weeks: Review of your baby and assessment for postnatal depression
  • Between 4-6 months: Appointment to discuss Weaning your Baby to Solids
  • Monthly contacts thereafter for weight, advice and support
  • At 8 months: Developmental review and support
  • 1st Birthday and thereafter as needed or every 6 months: Developmental review, advice and support up to 5 years old

Baby-Steps focuses on developing parents’ confidence and reducing anxiety. Katherine Whitby, founder of ‘Baby-Steps’ is a Paediatric Nurse and Health Visitor. She has extensive experience in answering parents’ questions about all aspects of child development and offering practical support and advice.  She has over 10 years experience caring for sick children at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Cromwell Hospital and in Chelsea and Westminster’s Accident & Emergency dept. As a Health Visitor, Katherine runs Well Baby Clinics, Post Natal groups and visits families at home.

Childhood Illnesses & Accidents - Covering First Aid and the initial steps to follow in an range of emergency situations – if a child became suddenly unwell, was injured, ingested a poisonous substance, had a fit, Meningitis, head injuries.  As well as tips to help you feel more confident in caring for your child when they have minor illness. Including what to have in your medicine cabinet, recognising signs and symptoms, where and when to seek medical advice. Useful handouts are given of the information covered.

Baby Resuscitation - Learn what to do if your baby stopped breathing or was choking. Practice on manikins.  There will be plenty of time to ask questions and practice, giving you confidence and reassurance. A must for parents – ante or post natal or anyone looking after children. Easy to use handouts are given at the end of the session

Baby-Steps offers Baby Massage courses with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).  You and your baby can enjoy the many benefits of baby massage in the comfort and convenience of your own home.  You can host a group session or have a one to one class.
